The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: First Look

001~2.jpgFans hungry for a little Hunger Games action got a tiny taste of the hit series’ next installment on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
The first released image from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire — on the cover of Entertainment Weekly — shows Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and newcomer Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair clad in full arena gear, weapons at the ready.

Claflin, 26, is no stranger to the fantasy realm. The English actor previously played William opposite Kristen Stewart in 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman.
The highly-anticipated second film will pick up where the first left off, with Katniss and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) returning home to District 12, only to return to the Hunger Games for the Quarter Quell, wherein 24 previous victors are forced to compete once more.

Claflin will play Finnick, a sexy, charismatic former champion who will try to distract Katniss in her quest to win.

Her career just won’t quit blowing up, and Jennifer Lawrence scored the cover spot for Vanity Fair’s February 2013 issue.

The “Winter’s Bone” babe looks nothing short of amazing in her photo shoot, helmed by Ellen Von Unwerth, and in her accompanying interview she indicates that looking pretty for the silver screen may be only the beginning of her assault on Tinseltown.

Jennifer explained, “I love filmmaking. I love acting but I don’t feel married to just being in front of the camera.”

Additionally, Miss Lawrence confessed she hasn’t really found a place to call home just yet. “I’m a nomad. I just looked in New York and I was looking in LA and I can’t figure out where I want to live.”

Photoshoot addition: Marie Claire South Africa

I added the first pic of the shoot Jennifer did for the January issue of Marie Claire South Africa!  The 22-year-old actress looked fierce for the front page shoot while dishing about everything from her personal life to her goals for the upcoming year.

A few highlights from Miss Lawrence’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Marie Claire South Africa!

On her New Years Resolution:
“My New Year’s Resolution is to stand up for myself. It’s hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice. I can’t do it. I have this ‘okay’ attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it.”

On being a celebrity:
“Celebrity is such a simple predictable thing, I’m not in awe of it. It makes completes sense. You have a job where people recognize you and they think you are not human.”

On her body image:
“I’d rather look chubby on screen and like a person in real life.”

On her personal life:
“I don’t like going out that much. I’m kind of an old lady. After it’s 11, I’m like ‘Don’t these kids ever get tired?’ When I’m out, I think about my couch.”

Jennifer Will Spend Christmas Shooting Clay Pigeons

Thanks to her Hunger Games training, Jennifer Lawrence is already a skilled archer — but it won’t help her come Christmas.
Speaking to the U.K.’s The Guardian from the Hawaii set of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the Golden Globe nominee, 22, said she’ll be spending the holiday with her family in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

“My brother just told me in an e-mail that we’re all going to go clay pigeon shooting,” Lawrence said. “He found this place where they let you shoot clay pigeons and then give you dinner afterwards. He’s real excited about it. We’ve never done it before.”
Lawrence added, “I don’t know what his shooting skills are like — I’m sure they’re better than mine. I’m going to have to bring my bow and arrow.”

The California-based star admitted she doesn’t consider the Bluegrass State her home anymore. “It’s where my family lives and it’s where I grew up,” she explained. “But I don’t know. These days I spend most of my time flipping between London and L.A.” (Lawrence’s boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult, lives in his native England.)

“I love London. I love the layout of the city and I love that it’s not Manhattan or L.A.,” the Silver Linings Playbook standout tells The Guardian. “In L.A., people are only interested in your job and how much money you make. In London that doesn’t matter so much. People know that there are other things to talk about.”
